Laminate flooring is a relatively new invention that has offered a whole new flooring solution. It is packaged conveniently, in planks that simulate hardwood but are sold typically in 4-foot strips in contrast to 8- or 10-foot strips. They are also available in tile form. It is a tremendously versatile material, simulating the look of dozens of different natural hardwood materials.
Laminate is also easy to clean due to the wear layer, and is surprisingly easy to install. An entire room can be finished in a day or two. Laminate can additionally be installed on top of any existing flooring aside from carpet, making it an easy replacement for a damaged or cracked hardwood or cement floor. It is also naturally resistant to the growth of mold and bacteria. Finally, it can be treated with special allergen-resistant and anti-bacterial coatings to make it even safer.
